2026-27 Physical Therapist - Itinerant (All 3 Campuses) (Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant)

Sumter, SC - Full Time

2024-25 Physical Therapist / Physical Therapist Assistant (10 Hours a Week Max - SC LLR License Required)

The School-Based Physical Therapist supports scholars’ physical development and access to learning by providing therapeutic services that improve mobility, strength, and functional independence within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate scholars to determine physical therapy needs related to educational access

  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals

  • Provide direct and consultative therapy services in classrooms and school settings

  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to support scholar success

  • Monitor progress, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with special education regulations

  • Support safe mobility, positioning, and use of adaptive equipment

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate or Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy

  • Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist

  • Experience in pediatric or school-based settings preferred

  • Flexibility, problem-solving, and a heart for service

  • South Carolina LLR required for PT/ PTA; Valid out-of-state certification is also acceptable.

Compensation

$50-$75 an hour
Part time employees are not eligible for benefits.
